Meet our Staff
Richard MacLean, President
As Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. MacLean is responsible for the management and strategic planning at Global Education Services. He oversees all short-term language and technical training program development and coordination, study abroad program management, and university strategic planning. Mr. MacLean is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Seattle University. His thesis research incorporates his responsibilities at Global Education Services as he will explore the vital tool of strategic planning in higher education. With an extensive base of experience in international education, Mr. MacLean founded Global Education Services in 1997 to foster global understanding through education. Before founding GES Mr. MacLean served as Chair of International Programs for Seirei Gakuen University in Japan, and served in several capacities for American Cultural Exchange. Mr. MacLean's positions with American Cultural Exchange include Director of Short-Term English and Technical Programs, Assistant Vice President and President of Japan Operations, Vice President of Corporate Development and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. MacLean has also served as Special Advisor to the President on International Affairs and Projects for three universities as well as Executive Director/Vice President of International Affairs for Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.
Lin Zhang, M.A., Research Analyst
Ms. Zhang obtained a Master's degree in theological studies from Harvard University. She came to GES to complete her OPT experience. During her studies at Harvard, Ms. Zhang performed systematic studies in the social science areas, such as religion and social theory, culture and cultural conflict, public policies, political theory, ethics, and international law. Ms. Zhang also earned a Master’s degree in philosophy from Fudan University in June 2002, which is one of the top universities in China. Her studies in this well-known university focused on the research of Eastern and Western philosophy, modern and contemporary international relations, philosophy of management, political philosophy, etc. In 1999, Ms. Zhang received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Fudan University, with the major in philosophy and the minor in international business. Ms. Zhang’s outstanding research ability and unique combination of collegial training in the various areas of social science, as well as her multi-cultural background, are badly needed for the development of our services. Her presence in our professional team will surely benefit both our organization and our university partners.
Tsitsi Choruma, Ed.D, Program Facilitator (USA/AFRICA)
Dr. Tsitsi Choruma has worked in Higher Education for more than ten years, eight of which were in Zimbabwe. Dr. Choruma has worked in areas focusing on improving vocational and technical education in Zimbabwe, human resources training and development, and education program development. Dr. Choruma conducted and participated in research projects which involved assessing the National Training needs in Zimbabwe, Assessing the programs for including people with disabilities in Higher education, and assessing the role of private organizations in financing higher education in Zimbabwe. Dr. Choruma has also conducted capacity building and project development and management training programs for various non -governmental organizations in Zimbabwe. She also coordinated and facilitated cultural and language exchange programs conducted by GES. Dr. Choruma holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Seattle University in Washington. Dr. Choruma was awarded the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship in 1999, and was awarded a Seattle University Educational Leadership Moford Scholarship in 2002.
